From hosting the first Casino Night and Concert fundraiser to helping raise awareness of 22q and empowering 22q parents at Camp Dragonfly Forest, summer 2010 was a busy one for The Ryan and Jenny Dempster Family Foundation.
Ryan Dempster hosted several children who attended a summer speech and language camp at the Cubs vs Braves game on Friday, August 20th.
The Hartzell and The Hand Family invite you to the “Pitching In” fundraiser in honor of Kylie Hand. The event will take place on Saturday, September 11, 2010.

A little rain didn’t stop the Dempster family and over 230 other walkers from putting on their walking shoes for the 2nd annual Slow and Steady — a walk for 22q event on Saturday, August 21, 2010.
On Thursday, August 19, 2010, approximately 200 Chicagoans joined together in raising a glass at Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab alongside Chicago Cubs pitcher Ryan Dempster in support of the Dempster Family Foundation.

Chicago Cubs pitcher Ryan Dempster took time out from his baseball schedule on Wednesday, May 29th in Philadelphia to visit with families with children with a 22q11.2 deletion (DiGeorge Syndrome/VCFS) at the “22q and You” Center at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Cubs players, coaches and others have rallied to create a cookbook featuring some of their favorite recipes for sale later this year to benefit the Ryan and Jenny Dempster Family Foundation.

Sunday night after a long weekend spent at the Cubs Convention, I joined several hundred people at Hub 51 for the launch of The Ryan & Jenny Dempster Family Foundation. The Cubs pitcher and his wife started the charity to raise awareness of and support children with the 22q11.2 deletion (DiGeorge Syndrome), a genetic disorder their 10-month-old daughter Riley suffers from.

Riley, daughter of Ryan Dempster, Chicago Cub Pitcher and his wife, Jenny, was born into the world last on April 1. She is about 10 weeks, but she had DiGeorge syndrome, a rare congenital disease which prevents her from swallowing and digesting food.
