About Jenny Dempster
Jenny Dempster was born on October 17, 1973 in Lackawanna, New York. Jenny is a 1996 graduate of Florida State University where she majored in Sports Marketing at FSU. Jenny worked for the National Hockey League’s Tampa Bay Lightning, then the Atlanta Thrashers Hockey Club. It is here where she discovered her love of volunteering for charitable causes. She assisted in several of the Thrashers community efforts including the fundraisers to raise money for the team’s Foundation, team hospital visits and other community projects. Jenny and Ryan were married in 2003. In 2006 Jenny helped Ryan start “Dempster’s Dugout” a charitable ticket program that donates over 500 tickets to local social service agencies that assist low-income children. Jenny was the driving force behind the couple’s Military Family Visits to Wrigley Program. Created in 2006 to bring families of those serving in the military out to a ballgame to recognize them for the sacrifices they make for the country, Jenny worked with the community relations department to host 50 family members at Wrigley on Fathers Day whose fathers were serving in, or who had recently returned from Iraq or Afghanistan. This is a cause close to Jenny’s heart, as she has family members in the military as well. Through Jenny’s efforts, the Dempsters held the program Father’s Day 2007, and Mother’s Day 2008 to carry on the tradition. Jenny is also involved in the Cubs’ Wives Organization. Jenny is a Golden Chiefs supporter of Florida State University, and has been personally involved with raising money for the 2-Day Breast Cancer Walk in Chicago, as part of the Purple Hooters team. It is Jenny’s vision to continue her charitable efforts through the Ryan and Jenny Dempster Family Foundation while being a full-time mom to son Brady and daughter Riley.
